Public Launch Week

Overview

After going through beta launch / testing the last two weeks or so this week has been public launch. It’s been fun and exciting to see new people signing up and adding dive spots from around the world.

🚀 New Features

Photo Uploads

You can now add photos when creating a new dive spot and when adding a new dive log.

Spot photos appear on spot detail pages and map popups. Log photos appear in the log and in the spot’s gallery. Adding photos are simple, both spots and logs are limited to 5 for now.

Google Sign In

Account Creation and Sign in can now be done through your Google account. Straight forward. I'll look at adding Facebook and Apple Sign in in the future.

🔧 Improvements

Dive Map

• The dive map should be loading a bit faster now and smoother when navigating / spot loading around the map.
• Fixed a bug causing an empty map on first load for some users.

📅 Coming Up

Add Spot / Log Visit Flow

Right now many users don’t realize they can log a visit right after adding a new dive spot. Logging visits is where a ton of the detailed data inputs are set to enrich each spot with useful info.

I’m designing a smoother, stepped process to make this obvious.

• Stepped process for adds / logs
• Add spot -> log dive flow in
• Allow adding additional details on dive spot adds (that would normally come from future dive logs)

Shop Accounts

I'm working on getting shop accounts set up for initial testing. If you're a dive shop owner / instructor that would be beneficial for to find on the map, reach out to get on the waitlist and give a bit of info about what you do / links etc.
